Exporting results
IOA Marker stores everything locally in your browser. To get data out — for your gradebook, for records, or for backup — you export it.
Export options
Section titled “Export options”From the assessment screen, click Export to see available options.
Download all (zip)
Section titled “Download all (zip)”The primary export — a complete backup as a zip file containing:
setup.json— full assessment configurationscores.csv— all student scores- Individual feedback files for each student
Use this for:
- Backup before clearing browser storage
- Transferring an assessment to another device
- Archiving completed assessments
- Restoring later via import
Scores CSV
Section titled “Scores CSV”A spreadsheet-ready file with one row per student:
- Student name and ID
- Overall mark
- Per-criterion scores
- Marking status
Import this into your LMS gradebook or use it for records.
Feedback export
Section titled “Feedback export”Written feedback for all students who have saved feedback. Four formats are available:
Multiple files (zip):
- Download as multiple .txt files — one text file per student
- Download as multiple .docx files — one Word document per student
Single combined file:
- Download as single .txt file — all feedback in one text file
- Download as single .docx file — all feedback in one Word document
Choose based on how you’ll distribute feedback. Multiple files work well for individual emails; a single file is easier for bulk printing.
Setup export (JSON)
Section titled “Setup export (JSON)”On the setup page, use Export setup to save just the assessment configuration (criteria, indicators, prompts, settings) without students or markings. Use this to reuse a setup for a new cohort via Import setup on another assessment.
Where exports go
Section titled “Where exports go”Exports save to your Downloads folder as files. Where they go from there is up to you.
Importing
Section titled “Importing”To restore from a backup zip or import a setup:
Full restore: On the home screen, click Restore assessment and select your zip file. This creates a new assessment with all the backed-up data.
Setup only: Create a new assessment, open Edit setup, and click Import setup. Select a setup JSON file to copy criteria, indicators, prompts, and settings into the current assessment.
Note: Importing only works with IOA Marker’s own formats (zip backups or JSON setup files). You can’t import arbitrary CSV or spreadsheet files.
Data safety
Section titled “Data safety”All your data lives in browser storage. If you clear your browser data for the site, everything is deleted permanently.
Mitigations:
- Export JSON backups regularly
- Export after completing each assessment
- Keep backups somewhere safe (cloud storage, external drive)
